Summer Courses in Jaca

98th Edition (August 2025)

The Summer Courses in Spanish as a Foreign Language run by the University of Zaragoza in Jaca are the oldest in Spain, having been founded in 1927.

The city of Jaca, some 850 metres above sea level, was the capital of the old kingdom of Aragon and is today a leading tourist resort in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, offering a wide range of cultural events and services, including concerts, street markets, exhibitions, lectures and conferences.

Its natural setting and facilities are ideal for many sports, including parasailing, horse riding, ice skating, adventure sports, rambling, etc.

The city has always been and continues to be a favoured way stage for pilgrims on the St. James Way and a focus for exchange and understanding between cultures. It also constitutes a gateway to Europe as it is just a few short kilometres from the French border.

Together with the Spanish Courses for Foreign Students, Spanish Teacher Training Courses are also offered. Spanish-speaking students participate in these courses allowing Spanish and Foreign students the opportunity to spend time together and practise their language skills.
